Start with the decision, not the feature list
We ask what business decision this product changes. Feature lists derived from that question look very different from feature lists derived from competitor screenshots.
Prototype the hardest screen first
The riskiest interface — usually the dense one everybody keeps postponing — gets prototyped in week one. It surfaces the requirements nobody articulated.
Leave with a plan you can cut
Discovery ends with a prioritised roadmap where every phase is independently shippable, so budget changes reduce scope instead of derailing the project.
